Hearing Voices…

Why, yes, I’m hearing voices! I’ve recently opened up voice acting auditions for Freedom Planet:

The game’s Adventure mode will feature fully-voiced cutscenes in between stages, and I’m searching hard for the right kind of people for the job. If you know anyone with vocal talent who might be interested, the deadline for the first batch of characters is May 20th! If you miss out, don’t worry; I’ll be putting up another cast of characters after the current auditions are complete.

If you’ve been looking forward to the game, but aren’t looking forward to sitting through cutscenes, you’ll be happy to know that I’m planning to add a Classic mode that removes them and lets you to play through all of the stages in order without interruption, just like the cartridge days of yore.

That’s all for now. A big thanks to everyone who has auditioned so far!

Progress is coming along quite nicely with Freedom Planet! I’m slowly but surely replacing all of the Sonic elements so that the game’s originality shines through. I’ve received a lot of positive feedback from both gamers and veteran fangame developers, so my thanks goes out to everyone who supports the project.

You can check out the latest gameplay video above. If you’d like to read more, swing over to TIGSource for a full summary:

Over the past month or so, I’ve been working on a side project so that I get some more games under my belt. This newer project, codenamed Freedom Planet, is a high-speed platformer based on Sega’s Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. It uses a physics engine for MMF2 that mimics the behavior of the Sega Genesis games very closely. In spite of the similarities, the game will feature a completely original set of graphics and characters, making it more of a nod to the Sonic series than an actual fangame.
I intend to create a fresh project page for this, but in the meantime, I’ve been posting updates about it here:

SC Website Postponed For Now

I’ve had a change of heart about Spectrum Chase’s web page, as I think it’s far too early in development. I would prefer to wait until I have a lot more content that I can show off.

In the meantime, I will continue to post updates about the game’s progress here:

I’ve renamed my Time Heroes project to something more suitable: Spectrum Chase. I’ve also been drawing concept art of the main characters and fleshing out their back stories, along with the game’s high concept and synopsis. Posted above are Violet Star and Indigo Sol, the two playable characters.
It’s my goal to have everything ready to build the game’s web page by the end of the week, though I’d like to get everything ready sooner if possible.
On a different note, I’ve been frequenting the forums on TIGsource recently. It can be a little overwhelming at times since it’s such a big place, but the folks there really know their stuff. ^_^

New Website Up

I’ve been working on a new and completely original layout for GalaxyTrail Games over the past week or so, and I’ve just completed the finishing touches. I do believe this layout has more personality and flare to it than the former Wordpress layout. ^_^

That being said, I hope to make a few additions in the future - namely, some detailed project pages for FableQuest and Spectrum Chase and the ability for folks to leave comments and such - possibly with an embedded forum of some sort. We shall see.

In the meantime, enjoy exploring the new and improved GalaxyTrail Games site!
